A young woman in Elgin leaves her laptop computer on the front seat of her car, parked in front of where she works. In broad daylight someone smashes one of the car's windows, grabs the computer and a flash drive and is gone without anyone noticing. Lost, along with the expensive equipment, is personal information that can't be replaced, and the possibility of identity theft lingers.
